Buying a Used Luxury Car in Dubai
Dubai has one of the world’s deepest markets for used luxury and performance cars. This guide explains how to buy one safely — specs, documents, inspection, RTA transfer, finance and export — alongside the 125 premium used cars currently for sale on gCar Sale.
The Dubai market today
As of 15 Oct 2026 there are 125 used cars for sale on gCar Sale, asking from AED 1,500,000 to AED 35,000,000 (median AED 2,099,000). The biggest brands by number of listings are Rolls-Royce (43), Ferrari (27), Mercedes-Benz (20), Lamborghini (8), Porsche (7). Most cars are displayed in Al Quoz and Ras Al Khor, Dubai’s main pre-owned showroom districts.
Browse by brand: Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley, McLaren, Bugatti, Aston Martin, Pagani. Or jump to the most-listed models: Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Ferrari 812, Ferrari SF90, Rolls-Royce Spectre, Porsche 911, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Rolls-Royce Wraith.
Step by step: how to buy
- Shortlist on facts. Compare model year, version, stated mileage, regional specification and asking price. Use compare for up to four cars side by side, and the price guide to see what similar cars are listed for.
- Enquire. Each listing’s WhatsApp button carries the stock number and link — it goes to the dealer’s own number where gCar holds it, otherwise to the gCar Sale concierge, who checks the car with the dealer. Ask for the VIN, service history, number of owners, accident history and whether any finance is outstanding.
- View and test drive. Check the car matches the listing and the documents — VIN on the car, the mulkiya and the service book.
- Inspect independently. Book a pre-purchase inspection before paying anything. For high-value and limited cars, use the brand’s dealer or a recognised specialist.
- Agree the price in writing. Get a signed agreement or receipt that names the car by VIN, the price, the deposit and the refund conditions.
- Transfer ownership. Complete the RTA transfer together with the seller, with insurance in your name. If you are exporting, the car is registered for export and an RTA export certificate is issued instead — see the export guide.
GCC spec or imported?
GCC-specification cars are supplied for the region and supported by the local dealer network, which usually makes servicing, warranty and resale simpler. Many supercars and luxury cars in Dubai are European, American or Japanese imports: they can be registered here, but equipment, warranty cover and resale can differ. Every gCar listing shows the spec as stated by the seller — or “not provided”. See all cars and filter by spec.
Documents and checks
- Registration card (mulkiya) — the name, VIN and first-registration date should match.
- Service history from an authorised dealer or specialist, with dates and mileages.
- Bank clearance letter if the car has been financed.
- Confirmation that traffic fines are cleared before the transfer.
- For tuned or converted cars (Brabus, Mansory, widebody kits): conversion certificates and invoices.
Finance and trade-in
UAE banks finance used cars for residents, generally with a down payment of at least 20% and limits on the car’s age. gCar Sale shows an illustrative calculator on eligible listings; your bank sets the actual rate. gCar does not take cars in part-exchange itself; ask the dealer whether they accept a trade-in.
Why buy through gCar Sale
We check every listing against the seller’s live advert and mark cars that disappear as sold, show the price history when a seller changes the price, label every fact by its source (seller-stated or not provided) and handle the first contact with the dealer for you where needed. We don’t own the cars, we don’t invent condition claims and we recommend an independent inspection on every purchase.

Used car buying questions
Can a non-resident buy a car in Dubai?
Non-residents can buy a car in Dubai, but registering it in the UAE normally requires a residence visa and Emirates ID. Visitors usually buy for export: the seller de-registers the car and an export certificate is issued so it can be shipped abroad.
What documents do I need to transfer ownership?
In Dubai the transfer is completed with the RTA. Expect to need Emirates IDs for buyer and seller, the vehicle registration card (mulkiya), valid insurance in the buyer’s name, cleared traffic fines and — if the car was financed — a clearance letter from the seller’s bank. Requirements can change, so confirm on the RTA website or app before the appointment.
Should I choose a GCC-spec car?
GCC-specification cars are supplied for the Gulf, carry the regional dealer warranty and usually resell more easily in the UAE. Imports can be cheaper and are common among supercars, but check warranty and service support with the local dealer first.
How much deposit is normal?
There is no fixed rule. Never pay a deposit before viewing the car, confirming the seller’s ownership and arranging an inspection — and always get a written, signed receipt that states the car’s VIN and the conditions for refund.
Can I finance a used luxury car?
UAE residents can finance through banks, which generally require a down payment of at least 20% and look at the car’s age and value. Finance examples on gCar Sale are illustrative only; your bank sets the actual rate.
How do I know a listing is still available?
gCar checks every listing against the seller’s live advert (last check 15 Oct 2026). Cars that disappear are marked as sold and removed from the listings, so what you see is current as of that check — still confirm with the seller before visiting.
